This article explores the relationships between Amazonas and Rio Grande do Sul, in the face of extreme climate events that affected these regions in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Discusses the causes and consequences of droughts in Amazonas and floods in Rio Grande do Sul, focusing on climate change and human action as determining factors. The text also addresses the fragility of planetary balance and the possibility of climate changes caused by human action and the unique characteristics of the planet in the
cosmos. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for adequate infrastructure to mitigate the effects of these drastic events and highlights the importance of warning systems and water resources management. Finally, this article will explore the ways in which the Public Prosecutor’s Office operates, given its constitutional competence to intervene and the possibility of mitigating the effects of extreme weather events.
